Earth Day Celebration

11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Come to Trailside’s Bear Den between 10:30 & 11:00 am. The zookeepers will be putting out treats & decorating the Bear Den. At 11:00 am, the bears will come out of their dens to gobble up treats. Family-friendly fun with an Earth-friendly focus! Nature-related displays & activities!  See spring-themed animal enrichment!

Fly on over to celebrate the birds of New York State at Trailside! Visit the bald eagle, owls, hawks & turkeys! Family friendly activities: Bird Olympics, & Great Migration Challenge!

Biodiversity Celebration

11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Learn about Biodiversity & Local Habitats! Visit our Pond, River, Forest, Woodland Pool, Rocky Summit & Grassland habitat stations. Learn what you can do to promote biodiversity and help the plants and animals that call these habitats home. Trailside is operating at 1/3 capacity, so there may be a wait to enter. Please maintain social distance and wear face mask. Allow 20 minutes to walk from parking lots to Trailside.

Boo at the Zoo

10:30 am to 3:00 pm

Come at 10:30 a.m. to make bear treats, then watch the bears explore their den at 11:00 a.m. Learn about vultures, owls, bears & other animals. Family friendly activities –pumpkin decorating, face painting, matching games & crafts. Wear your favorite not-so-spooky Halloween costume!

Beary Merry Holiday

10:30 am at Bear Den

Come to the Bear Den at 10:30 to make tasty snacks for the black bears. Celebrate the holiday season at 11:00 when the bears come out to unwrap their gift boxes full of delicious treats! Bear Mountain also offers a day of fun at ice rink, merry-go-round & on the many hiking trails!
